Oven Door Panel Fell Off

Bring the oven door all the way down letting it hang open at its lowest point.

Oven door panel fell off.

It appears that this panel is only held on by a thin strip of adhesive i expected more from a ge appliance. On our ge profile range radiant self cleaning the glass portion on the oven door fell off but did not break. We can t seem to fine anything to snap the panel into at the bottom. It was to remove the door and i applied the glue and clamped it tight for 24 hours.

September 17 2012. Thank you for your inquiry. On older ovens the high temperature silicone adhesive can perish over time causing the glass to separate from the door. Grip both sides of the oven door and then lift up and out to remove the door.

No matter what brand of oven you have opening the door exposes the metal hinges connecting the door to the rest of the oven. You can then reach the latches locking the hinges in place.
